CompTIA Storage+ Powered by SNIA is a vendor-neutral certification that validates the knowledge and skills required of IT storage professionals. The CompTIA Storage+ Powered by SNIA certification exam covers the knowledge and skills required to configure basic networks to include archive, backup, and restoration technologies. Additionally, the successful candidate will be able to understand the fundamentals of business continuity, application workload, system integration, and storage/system administration, while performing basic troubleshooting on connectivity issues and referencing documentation.

The exam is targeted toward IT storage professionals with at least twelve months of experience. Though it is not required, CompTIA A+, CompTIA Network+ or CompTIA Server+ certification is recommended.

1. Storage Components

It will cover Identify common storage networking industry terms., Explain the following storage networking industry terms, Given a scenario, implement the following fibre channel technologies, Given a scenario, implement the following Ethernet network technologies, Identify the basics of converged storage network technologies, Given a scenario, use the appropriate network tools, Troubleshoot the following common networking problems, Troubleshoot the following common fibre channel problems, Compare and contrast common storage infrastructures

3. Storage Management

It will cover Explain the following RAID levels and associated properties, Given a scenario, execute storage provisioning techniques, Explain volume management concepts, Describe general virtualization concepts, Given a scenario, implement monitoring, alerting, and reporting, Explain management protocols, interfaces, and associated purpose, Explain Information Lifecycle Management concepts, Explain the various functions and differences of de-duplication and compression

4. Data Protection

It will cover Explain redundancy concepts, associated purposes, and components, Compare and contrast different replication methods and properties, Explain the basics of data backup concepts for long term storage, Explain the basic concepts and importance of data security
